Mission
We help companies and individuals realize their visions. Successful projects are launched with solid engineering practices, expertise, and the guidance we offer. From concept through the entire manufacturing process, Protomatix will support clients with innovative solutions.
History
Formerly Custom Tooling & Test Fixture, Protomatix has evolved from a test fixture design and fabrication service to a product development, design, and fabrication company. Serving the needs of companies and individual entrepreneurs with new projects and ideas to make our world a better place. CTTF was started in 1996 to aid assembly companies produce product more effectively and at lower cost. Realizing many design engineers were not fully embracing design for manufacture or design for test practices, Protomatix has entered the field of prototype development, project consulting, circuit board design and development, cost analysis, and material requisition planning.
Communication
Protomatix is able to communicate details of the project to all related project members effectively. The models and related documentation are updated constantly from the initial concept, to the prototyping and acceptance phase. Documentation may need to be updated for fabrication and manufacturing to communicate details of those processes.
Our project members are in good communication to assure all details and features of the project work smoothly and seamlessly. Assuring quality end results.
Pricing Structure
Pricing structure is based on customers and client needs. Protomatix can estimate for projects development costs. Hourly charges are available for services on small projects such as standard machining services and consultation. Percentage costing is possible for projects with prototypes we deem viable and marketable.
Clients with existing CAD data that need FDM service only and no engineering are welcome. FDM prices are calculated using the machine preprocessor, which generate the time and materials used. FDM prices are added with overhead for an accurate quote.
Return on Investment
Return on investment is calculated with a thorough cost analysis, including design, manufacturing costs and review of the target market. ROI projection is necessary to assure client profit, in a competitive market place.
Quality up front design and engineering reduces final cost of parts and assemblies, and increases profit of the project. Return on investment is projected early in the product development phase of a new project.
Associates
Protomatix engineers and associates work closely to assure seamless operation through the design and development phase of a project. We work closely with outside vendors and suppliers.
Engineering Practices
Design for manufacturing (DFM) and Design for test (DFT) concepts are taken seriously at Protomatix. These details left out can be detrimental or add cost to the project. DFT and DFM are disciplines acquired from years of direct experience in the manufacturing and assembly environment. These disciplines are followed to assure the project is successful.
Intellectual Property
Intellectual property (IP) is secured by the non-disclosure statement from the client to Protomatix. Ideas, concepts, and processes are kept safe. All IP generated by the creation process is reported to the appropriate project members.
IP established by Protomatix is guarded from being received by unauthorized persons.
