Fusion deposition modeling (FDM)

Protomatix operates Dimension® FDM machines or printers from Stratasys. FDM is a type of rapid prototype machine that prints in layers. Different mediums and machine types deliver a part that is generally true to the solid model but have different characteristic and costs. FDM produces a durable Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic part at reasonable cost. Our FDM printer helps in many ways including fixturing, mold forming, and part visualization.

Precision measuring

Scaling or measuring a part accurately is necessary for fabrication and modeling. Protomatix assures our parts are within specifications. We measure existing parts and products for modeling and engineering purposes.

Our electronics lab is equipped to measure signals on circuit boards and assemblies. Many prototypes must be optically aligned or have accurate system alignment during assembly.
